READ@UNI UPM - CAKNA ILMU

CAKNA ILMU Reading Corner, Research Management Centre (RMC)

The rationale of “CAKNA ILMU Reading Corner

As a university staff, the sensitivity or practice of knowledge must be assimilated within it in order to become a culture of knowledge enhancement. Based on the motto "BERILMU BERBAKTI" all staff should be aware of or use various information as a means of providing quality services especially in science. Therefore, reading culture should be a positive practice for every staff member to be productive and intellectually active.

The goals of the CAKNA ILMU Reading Corner are in line with the READ@UNI campaign launched by the Ministry of Education at all IPTAs / Universities including UPM in enhancing the reading culture among staff to be more productive and intellectual.

The Read@Uni Launch Ceremony is an initiative to create a reading nation by 2030 that will be implemented at all Public and Private Higher Education Institutions through the efforts of the library of universities and institutions. With the slogan 'With Knowledge We Lead' and themed #MalaysiaReading, the campaign is expected to further enhance reading practices among University citizens such as students, lecturers and administrative staff.

At Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), the Read@Uni Ceremony was launched by Prof. Datin Paduka Dato’ Dr. Aini Ideris, UPM Vice-Chancellor at the Radin Umar Engineer Auditorium, Faculty of Engineering, UPM on April 12, 2019 with the attendance of over 500 invited guests including UPM students and officers.
