There are 36 staff members in RMC consisting of the Director, two (2) Deputy Directors, four (4) Administrative Officers, two (2) Research Officers, three (3) Executive Officers, one (1) Science Officer, six (6) Publication officers and 18 people from the implementing group.

Research Management Centre are constantly visited by visitors and regularly organize activities or programs that contribute to the university as well as the lecturers. The Research Management Centre also continually broadcasts useful information and programs to interested visitors

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) gives priority to the students’ essentials and their well-being especially among current students who are studying in UPM. Hence, UPM also ensures that it provides an array of technology equipment and facilities in order to guarantee that the students’ welfare is well taken care of. Hence, Research Management Centre (RMC) is happy to assist the student in the research field.    

 

  • Putra@VID
    UPM has been using the virtual card as a new student identity identification for the 2018/2019 entry session to replace existing student card usage. Accordingly, the first year of the 2018/2019 session will use the Smartphone Application (for Android and iOS users) and WEB Desktop on the https: /putravid.upm.edu.my website known as Putra® Virtual ID (Putra®VID) for managing identification while interacting with all campus facilities such as ICT application access, use of infrastructure facilities, attendance, authentication of university students and so on.

Synthesis Magazine

We are back! Synthesis magazine has been rebranded into the new concept and style. With still bringing the fundamental concept, Synthesis is an official research magazine published by Research Management Centre, Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) UPM. It covers research happenings, award-winning innovations, and high impact publications that emerge from various faculties and institutes across the university. Apart from that, it features some info-graphics about UPM research dynamics.

Application for IIASA Young Scientists Summer Programme (YSSP) 2019


The Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), a National Member Organization for the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) is now inviting interested Malaysian young scientists to apply for the IIASA Young Scientists Summer Programme (YSSP) 2019. The YSSP 2019 will be held from 1 June to 31 August 2019 in Laxenburg, Austria.

The YSSP offers research opportunities to talented young researchers whose interests correspond with IIASA’s on-going research issues of global environmental, economic and social change. Participants are able to advance their research under the direct supervision of an experienced IIASA scientist and at the same time contribute to IIASA’s on-going scientific agenda. In addition, they can broaden their research interests by working in IIASA’s interdisciplinary and international research environment.

The application for IIASA Young Scientists Summer Programme is open from 1 October 2018 until 11 January 2019 (7:00am Malaysia Time).

FRANCE – 15 Postdoctoral Fellowships on Biology and Information Technologies open to all nationalities at the French Atomic and Alternative Energies Commission (CEA). No specific application deadline: The positions are open until they are filled by appropriate candidates

FRANCE – INRIA International Chairs (Incoming) Funding for long stays by eminent international researchers in INRIA's project teams. Programme covers 12 months spread over 5 years. FRANCE PRESTIGE Postdoc programme. The PRESTIGE programme, coordinated by Campus France, aims at fostering the international mobility of post-doc researchers. Three mobility schemes are available:

  • Incoming, allowing foreign researchers to carry out their post-doctoral research work in France;
  • Outgoing, for researchers from France wishing to carry out a post- doctoral research project in another country;
  • Re-integration, targeted at nationals of EU Member States or Associated Countries working in research for at least 3 years in another Third Country to come to France to further develop their career.
  • Applications are open all year round with four cut off dates:  31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 31 December.

GERMANY- Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers. Open to Experienced Researchers of all nationalities and in all disciplines. Offer to spend up to 18 months collaborating with an academic host at a research institution in Germany. UK - Leverhulme Trust Visiting ProfessorshipsThe Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professorships are awarded to UK institutions that wish to invite an eminent researcher from overseas for an extended stay in the UK to enhance the knowledge and skills of academic staff or the student body within the host institution. Applications will be considered in all subject areas with the following exceptions: studies of disease, illness and disabilities in humans and animals, or research that is intended to inform clinical practice or the development of medical applications. Applications must be made by a member of academic staff, based in a UK university or other higher education institution, who will be responsible for co-ordinating the visit. I am pleased to inform you that the Work Programme 2018-2020 of Horizon 2020, the EU's Research and Innovation funding programme, was launched by the European Commission today.

Horizon 2020 is the largest multinational programme dedicated to research & innovation and it is "open to the world". This means that researchers, universities, research organisations, companies and non-governmental organisations from across the globe can apply to participate in the activities of the Work Programme carried out mainly through calls  for proposals.

The calls of the Work Programme launched today represent a major investment of €30 billion. These offer an extraordinary occasion for the scientific community and innovators in third countries to tap on the opportunities offered  by Horizon 2020 working together with counterparts from the EU and countries associated to Horizon 2020 in areas  of mutual interest.

In addition to this general opening, in this Work Programme, international cooperation in research and innovation has been strengthened through the inclusion of a list of 30 flagship initiatives with specific countries in areas of mutual benefit worth over €1billion.
